I photographed the opening reception for artist and gallery director Fr. Richard Cannuli at Villanova University a few days ago. Sure, it has been great to follow the recent NCAA basketball success at the university, and it’s always fun to photograph tournament games, but I had just as much enjoyment photographing this reception. The show is titled ‘Ever Ancient, Ever New’ – Sacred Treasures but I just call it God Art since I really don’t have any other words to describe it. It’s spiritually inspired from a personal and historical perspective. Fr. Cannuli is already a master at creating religious icons, but this goes beyond his past creations.
